Yes, Red Dirt Jeeps do a lot of Jeepin'. But, more than that, they really focus in on the family. With that being said, let's take a look at Red Dirt Jeep Family Day that was just held out at Oklahoma Lake. Summer time is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy time with family and friends. Red Dirt Jeeps took the opportunity this month to hold their 2nd annual family day and combined it with the 3rd annual downhill Barbie Jeep races for this year. Friday evening a small group, who had been planning for a couple of months, arrived at Oklahoma Lake to begin unloading and setting up for Saturday's events. The convoys started rolling in around 10am on Saturday morning. The kids enjoyed a giant Jeep bounce house all day while the adults got checked in with their stock and modified class Barbie racing Jeeps. The lake water was perfect for cooling off throughout the day and lots of people enjoyed splashing around and playing on the giant pontoon slide. Around 2pm Racers lined up and spectators gathered around the hill ready for some crash and burn carnage and no one was disappointed! It was exciting and fun to watch them roll down the hill attempting to cross the finish line. After trophies were handed out and everyone took a break to regroup, folks gathered around the stage with their free raffle tickets for a drawing. RDJ supplied a load of prizes for adults and a prize for every kid! The rest of the afternoon was free time and everyone got a chance to visit with old friends and meet some new ones. There is always plenty of room for picnics and cooking out at the lake and RDJ's favorite food truck, Steveo's Sausage was there with delicious dogs and unlimited toppings. |
