"A watermark is a recognizable image or pattern in paper that appears lighter when viewed by transmitted light (or darker when viewed by reflected light, atop a dark background)......... A watermark is very useful in the examination of paper because it can be used for dating, identifying sizes, mill trademarks and locations, and the quality of a paper."

From Wikipedia. Highlights added for effect.

You will notice that on all the photos that C4x4 uses in its articles that are beyond thumbnail size, there is a watermark placed in one corner or the other. It is muted, not intended to cover up the image below, but rather to permanently identify the image it resides on as belonging to our mag. It is our property, and if viewed, copied, or used for any other site or purpose, the watermark will remain forever.

What are you watermarked with?

" You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

Galatians 3:26-29 (New International Version)

There are really only two watermarks that identify the mill from whence we came and the quality of the material we are made from. It seems like there would be more, doesn't it? Not so. Either we carry the watermark of the ruler of this earth, Satan, or the ruler of Heaven, Christ. There are no others.

As a believer, our watermark should be easily seen by those around us. What do others see in our lives? How do we live? Do they see Christ in us, or just another person living for the world and what it offers?

Your watermark should be the cross of Christ, the hope of a risen Saviour, the promise of a coming King. The mark is placed there by Christ the day we were made in his mill of fine quality paper from the dust of the earth.
