As in year's past, we will be goin' wheelin' on New Year's Day while others are nursing hangovers and watching football. This is not an official 'event', but we are going anyway so you might as well come along with us! We will be in Oklahoma and Southern California.

Oklahoma info:

"The Oklahoma Tour De Sober is drawing near.  We are busy at work getting all the rigs checked out and ready to hit the trails.  At this time it appears that we will once again travel to Clayton, Ok for the 2007 Tour De Sober.  There is still an outside chance that we might move it to Disney, Ok to accommodate some 1st time visitors from Kansas and Missouri.  This would only be done if it better suits our needs.

We will be arriving Friday afternoon, the 29th of December.  We will sit around and get acquainted Friday night, wheel hard on Saturday and Sunday and then ring in the New Year.  Some folks, I am sure, will wheel for a few hours Monday morning while the rest are packing up and heading home.  All in all we are expecting to have a great time playing on the Oklahoma rocks and fellowshipping with our old and new friends.

We are expecting several new folks and we are excited for the chance to meet up with some of them for the New Years Day run.

For information on the Oklahoma “Tour De Sober” run, feel free to give me a call or drop me a note."

Update 12/06:

We it has been determined that we will be doing the Tour De Sober at Clayton, Ok.  We will be staying at the Minnetonka Youth Camp.  They have some rooms with 2 double beds for a donation of $45  The have some dorm type rooms with 2 twin beds for $30 but they share a rest room with the other rooms.  As you probably know, you will need to get your room reserved early.  About all motel rooms in Clayton are full.  There will also be a charge for land use to the land owner.  We hope you all can make it to the TDS.  We will need to book the rooms real soon or they will rent to someone else so let me know and I'll get you in touch with our contact.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Come on over and let's do some Okie Wheelin!!!

Southern California info:

We will be meeting as in year's past at the Flying J truck stop at the Frazier Park offramp of the 5 Freeway in the town of Frazier Park, located just between Gorman and Lebec. This is very near and just north of the Hungry Valley State OHV area.

We will meet there at 09:00 on New Year's Day, Monday, and leave as close to 09:30 as possible. We will be wheeling in BC 109 which I understand to be out of the fire zone from the Day Fire that recently did so much damage here. This is typically not a difficult day and it can be considered an easy route but depending on weather conditions leading up to the run, it may be muddy and wet. It typically affords the options of going for the more agressive lines or taking the milder path. If the area sees snowfall on or just before the day of the run, the CHP may close the road, so stay tuned to this page if the weather looks iffy. Please e-mail us with any questions: mtroy@c4x4.com

Expect this to be an all day thing and bring a lunch, drinks, clothes for changing weather conditions and a well equipped vehicle with sensible items like spare tires, etc. No need for large tires and lockers, but it never hurts!
