As the holiday times grow near, you will find us back in the shop. Brad is busy starting to pull together some of the odds and ends on Nana’s rig. This last week, after getting his hunting out of the way early by bagging a nice 9 point buck on the first day out in rifle season, he is able to head for the shop.
Starting with light weight angle iron, Brad fabbed the custom built battery box make especially for the Optima Red Top battery that will supply the fire for Nana's big Jeep.
We also cut and shaped the expanded metal for the rear floor for the back of the Jeep. We chose to go this route to increase visibility and make for easy cleaning. As shown earlier, the fuel tank is mounted in the front of this area and now the mounting brackets are made for the Coleman Cooler so there can always be a can of Coke handy to quench Nana’s thirst.

Then we go back to the front of the Jeep. Brad climbed back under the rig and fabbbed up some bump stops to limit the up-travel of the front suspension.
Next he came back to the engine compartment and made mounts for the dual purpose transmission and power steering cooler.

Then Nana says she wants a Hi-Lift jack, so Brad fabbed some mounts above the fuel tank to make a nice, out of the way, but still easy to access location to mount the new Hi-Lift Jack.
Then its time to start with the window dressing. I called up the folks at Steel Queen in Oklahoma City and discussed our game plan for the front of Nana’s ride. They fired up the water jet machine and started cutting. Yes, the DRAGONFLY is officially born as Brad fabbed together the winch plate for the front of her rig.

For the next few weeks we are planning to be firing on all cylinders with this project so be looking for some real progress as we move through the holiday season.
Now don’t miss a issue because it will not be long now until Nana hits the starter on her new wild ride. THE DRAGONFLY
OKIE –OUT and may God Bless You and Yours during this upcoming Holiday Season.
