WELL NANA IS GETTING TIRED...
And also, she is getting her wheels!
Her little old 44” TSL Super Swampers have been sitting in the corner for a few months now. But now the time has arrived to get it all together. The double beadlock rims from USA 6X6 have also been sitting around awaiting the rock rings. Don and Brad finally fired up the CNC and cut the Dragon Fly/Sniper Fab rock rings for the outside protection for the wheels (Click here for video clip). Brad welded on the inner and outer rings, worked the welds down, and then shot a quick coat of primer on them. Then, as soon as they were dry, we shot the centers with Kawasaki Green. The rest of the wheels were shot with a gloss black. After the paint set for 48 hours, the painstaking task of mounting the TSL’s onto the double beadlock rims began. First, the back bead of the tire was fitted over the back half of the rim. Then, the plastic insert was slid into the tire and the sealing “O” is placed into the slot to seal the two halves. Then the tire was carefully centered on the back half of the rim. Next the front half of the rim was placed onto the outside of the tire. Then 4 - 3/8" x 4” bolts were placed opposite each other into 4 of the holes that bolt the 2 halves of the rim together. As the 4 bolts are drawn down, the 2 halves are pulled close enough together to get the rest of the bolts started. After all of the bolts are in place, they are torqued down, pressing the outside of the rims against the plastic insert. We moved from side to side and worked our way around the rim. This procedure is repeated several times until the 2 halves of the rim are pulled in tight compressing the “O” ring seal making it air tight. The tire is then aired up and checked for leaks. This procedure is then repeated on the other 3 tires and wheels. Now them there tires and wheels should make any grandma happy.

As we continue to proceed with Nanas project we are still awaiting some suspension parts so, what we thought we would get done with the suspension this month has been pushed back. Hopefully we can bring that to you next month and show you how we have built the BIG ROCKWELL AXLES into Nana’s little Jeep. So don’t get out of spittin distance or you will not catch something that you will sure want to see. So until next month. OKIE OUT!!!!

God Bless You and Yours
