Unlike our usual builds where we do everything Big, Bad and Custom, we decided to throw in a quick bolt-on project build that is more typical to what the everyday, daily driver gets for the looks and for weekend playing.
For this project we went with a 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ. With the large Grand Opening of the new 4 Wheel Parts location in Oklahoma City and the promotion there of the Skyjacker products, we took this opportunity to put this project together and show the performance results. While using a 20 degree RTI ramp set up for the event we rolled the Black Jack TJ onto the ramp and shot some pictures. We then took it straight from the ramp into the shop of 4 Wheel Parts for the installation of the Skyjacker TJ Rock Ready Long Arm Kit. We set down the boxes and turned Ross and James of the 4 Wheel Parts shop loose on the TJ. This would be a new experience for them. Not putting on a Long Arm kit, just doing it with this many eyes watching them from the roped off area of the shop where the numbers of potential customers lurked and observed their work.

Soon the old stock tires and wheel were stacked in a pile and old parts went to hitting the floor. They took breaks from the show from time to time to mount up tires and shocks for some of the many happy customers that had taken advantage of the great deals that were being offered by 4 Wheel Parts and their many product lines. Then, the guys would return right back to the project.

As the day went on so did the install and the transformation. From time to time other members of the 4 Wheel Parts Staff would slip over and give Ross and James a hand with the project. The onlookers continued to drift back and forth throughout the day to check on the progress of the TJ. As the 4 Wheel Parts expert installers worked, the transformation begin to take place.
While the Long Arm kit was being fitted to the TJ, 4 new 33 x 12.50 TRXUS MT Super Swampers were being mounted on 4 new 15 x 8 Black Steel Rock Crawler Rims. To set off the looks and to help the night vision when off roading, a set of Hella Moto Metal HD 8” off road lights are used on the front bumper of the TJ.
As the event came to an end the Project Black Jack TJ was rolled from the 4 Wheel Parts shop and taken back to the RTI ramp to check out the difference that the Skyjacker Long Arm Kit would make on the flexing abilities of the Black Jack TJ. Well pictures don’t lie. As you can see it made a dramatic difference on the RTI ramp.
This is a good example of what you can do to upgrade your rig without turning over the big bucks to a fab shop. The handling of the TJ on the drive home was great with the new rebuildable heim joints making for a very smooth ride. Also the improved look is awesome as you can see. All of this project was done without getting any grease on our hands. Cool HUH!!!!!!!

We want to again thank Skyjacker and the staff of 4 Wheel Parts for their part in “Project Black Jack TJ”. Also, thanks to Ross and James for their work on installing the Skyjacker TJ Rock Ready Long Arm Kit. It made a great show for the customers to watch and a nice warm place for them to spend time watching how the procedure is performed.
So get that rig of yours down to 4 Wheel Parts and get it lifted the right way with a Skyjacker system. They make kits for whatever type of vehicle you drive.
Until later,
Okie Out
