Have you ever been on the trail and stopped to eat lunch and wish you had a firm, solid place to make a sandwich or to hold your drink? Bestop has come out with the new Roughrider Tailgate Shelf to help you out with that. This compact folding shelf stores neatly on the tailgate of your Jeep Wrangler (2007 – 2017) and is great for storing your belongings or using as a table.

Installation of the tailgate shelf is extremely simple. You simply need to remove the tailgate wire cover, insert the 4 provided plastic inserts and then place the shelf tabs into the tailgate vents and use the 4 provided philip head screws to attach it to the tailgate. Installation can be done in about 10 min (or less) it's that easy!

The tailgate shelf is a great addition to any Jeep. It folds up nice and tight when not in use and when you need it, a simple push of the quick release button on the top and the shelf springs to life. The shelf has a great mesh attachment that allows you to throw groceries in or anything you don't want rolling around in the back of the Jeep. Even if you have the top off, you can throw stuff in that you don't want flying out of the Jeep!

The great part is you can simply remove the mesh by unclipping it from the top and removing the Velcro straps at the bottom to use the shelf as a tray. This is great for eating lunch on the trail, tailgating at your favorite sporting event, or to use while camping and it can even hold up to 35 pounds.
